The Story

Here are the two halves of a person, representing the ethical and unethical side to us all.

Both sides have much to say regarding the different situations I find myself in.

In the depictions of ‘Good vs Evil’, light and dark colors are often used.

I didn’t want that in my depiction of ‘Duality’. This stems from the realization that the choices that define a “bad” person is often what makes us human. The side that chooses harm is just as relatable to the human experience as the side that acts on the good. As cycles of influence run and change, so do the concepts of what is “good” and what is “evil”.

So, instead of a “dark versus light” illustration, I have chosen to portray both sides as equally bright and colorful, while embodying their own individual traits.

As one walks the road of contemplation, these two sides are often engaged in passionate debate. They will contend, and you contemplate until a truth is formed.

When my paintbrush bid farewell to the canvas,

the piece breathes on its own…
