Hope
Isn’t easy
In a world manufacturing chaos
To pocket likes, titles and coins
Dreams
Can be torpid
When everything is thrown
In a fraction of a second
Life
With no hope, no dreams
Is rancid
What are we here for?
What are our wants | desires?
We dream...
Of where we’ll be in five years…ten…
With Iridescent glasses
We’ll try to see the glimmer
Try to be the character in fortune’s bubble
Wishing to distort ourselves into better beings
We are reaching, always reaching
For more, so much more
As this flesh ripens with each passing sunrise
And Death paces the ground for our corpse
We push…
One step forward
Three steps back
Why is failure so slippery?
And dreaming | hoping such a Herculean clamber?
The winds of change, fickle and pervasive
Threatens to snuff out our heart’s flame
But still we burn
Setting whatever we can ablaze
So our dreams will glow
Forever.
