We fiddle with wrappers
the boxes…
the strings…
it thrills us
Consumed by these frivolous
“important things”
beauty - a disposable epidermis -
is shipped in boxes of billions
We see it, the plastic memories
floating in oceans
We drink it, our gunk-filled demise
And we lay under the scorching sun
laughing behind the screens of pop culture fun
Because we only wake to scratch away
at the pretty plastic veil.
